Nigerian Offshore Oil and Gas Industry receives USTDA support
The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) is helping Nigeria meet the logistical and engineering needs of its emerging offshore oil and gas industry by providing a grant to support the development of an electronic management platform.
USTDA Director, Leocadia I Zak, signed the grant on Dec. 28, 2012, which was conferred to the Integrated Logistics Free Zone Enterprise (LiLE), a private sector logistics provider in Nigeria.
Rwanda: Oil Prospects Gain Momentum
Prime Minister Pierre Damien Habumuremyi recently told parliament that studies done so far have shown that there are very high prospects of oil deposits in East Kivu Graben region of Rwanda.
This is the first ever solid confirmation from government on the stretched exploration activity by the Canadaian exploration firm, Vanoil Energy Limited.
Habumuremyi said: “Exploratory studies will continue. The first phase showed that there are many signs indicating that it is there.
Tanzania: Addax Energy wins oil supply tender
GAPCO Tanzania Ltd emerged winner of tender to supply petroleum products for the month of February next year under the Bulk Procurement System (BPS).
This is the eighth tender since the introduction of BPS in January this year. Previously the tenders were being floated bimonthly but according to industrial watchers, this formulae had put local investors out of the business.
