The construction of phase II of Mombasa port terminal in Kenya will start early 2017, Kenya Ports Authority managing director Gichiri Ndua has said. When complete, the second container terminal will provide and additional capacity of 470,000 and 550,000 TEUs.

The completion of a light rail construction project in Nigeria has been set for December 2016, Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has announced. The governor said that once complete the light rail construction project in Nigeria will start operation immediately.

The African Development Bank (AfDB), has boosted infrastructure construction projects in Tunisia following the approval of US$210mn to fund the projects in the country.
