Multi-million dollar commercial complex in Rwanda set to open November

A new multi-million commercial complex in Rwanda is set for opening in November this year. The commercial property is being constructed in the capital Kigali.

The construction of the commercial complex in Rwanda christened Kigali Heights commenced in February 2014 and is currently facing the final touches ready for inauguration.

Kenya says construction of Standard Gauge Railway line to continue

Kenya now says that construction of the country’s mega standard gauge railway line will commence in the next two weeks despite being stopped by the environmental tribunal.

Kenya’s Transport and Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary James Macharia said that phase 2A of the Standard Gauge Railway project running from Nairobi to Naivasha was supposed to be launched earlt lasy week but that it was delayed by a petition filed by activists including the Kenya Coalition for Wildlife Conservation.

Sankofa Gye Nyame Oil Field in Ghana to commence operation in 2017

Oil production from the Sankofa Gye Nyame Oil Field, is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2017 while production of gas is expected start in second quarter of 2018. The oil field is the third producing asset after Jubilee and the TEN fields.

Currently, the implementation of the Sankofa Gye Nyame Gas Project is about 54% complete, while the Floating, Production and Storage and Offloading (FPSO) Vessel is almost 80% complete.

Water distribution capacity in Mozambique capital Maputo doubles

The water distribution capacity in Mozambique capital Maputo has doubled following the completion of work on rebuilding the water distribution centre in the inner-city neighborhood of Alto-Mae.

Carlos Bonete, the Minister of Public Works, launched the distribution centre recently. The distribution centre’s storage capacity has increased from 4,500 to 10,000 cubic metres of water.
