Ghana’s Early Power Deal boosts energy mix

Ghana’s energy mix is expected to increase by 400MW of power following Early Power Deal that was passed by parliament in August 2016. The project is expected to come on stream in the next six month.

The country is currently experiencing an excruciating power crisis that has crippled businesses. But, the passage of the Early Power deal comes as a relief to citizens who are yearning for an improvement in their power supply.

Vivo Energy commissions mega diesel storage tank in Mombasa

Vivo Energy which is a downstream petroleum company based in Africa recently commissioned a 23 million litre diesel storage tank in Shimanzi, Mombasa County as it looks forward to boosting its supply in the region.

Speaking during the commissioning Vivo Energy Managing Director, Mr. Polycarp Igathe confirmed the news and said that the investment will allow the marketer to grow, expand and upgrade its retail network.

South African firm completes construction of cooking oil plant in Zimbabwe

Construction of a cooking oil plant in Zimbabwe has recently been completed by a South African company, Willowton with production projected to begin in November this year.

The news was confirmed by an anonymous official who said that they are now testing the machines and should be able to commence the refining of crude edible oil in the coming months.

Construction of mega solar power plant in Namibia to begin soon

A solar power plant in Namibia in the mining town of Arandis, this comes after Arandis Solar Energy which is an independent power producer, fruitfully tendered for the construction of the new power plant in 2015.

The new mega solar power plant in Namibia is projected to cost US$ 6m and will be constructed on a piece of land that measures 12.5 hectares which will afterwards be leased from Arandis Town Council.
