Nedbank has invested R8.3-million in conservation group WWF South Africa’s Sustainable Agriculture Programme, which aims to tackle food security challenges as well as protect natural resources in the country.

An agreement is in place to provide additional marketing assurance to the local potato and onion industry. The Potato and Onion Scheme was approved by the Ministry of Agriculture,Water and Forestry in February 2012.

Yakowa Approves N1 Billion Loan to Irrigation Farmers

Governor Patrick Yakowa of Kaduna State has approved N1 billion loan for irrigation farmers in the state.
Yakowa said this yesterday in Kaduna during the presentation of flags to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates in the December local councils election.

Africa gets $10m boost for agricultural entrepreneurs

A US$10 million grant to support the development of Africa-based innovations to boost African agricultural growth has been announced by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and of the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA).
