Coke and Partners to Give 10 African Countries $21 Million of Medical Aid
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), has joined Project Last Mile’s partners to include Mozambique and nine other African countries in their efforts to supply medicines and medical supplies.
USAID joins the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Coca-Cola Co. and its foundations in the public-private partnership that has promised an investment of more than $21 million over the next five years.
Project Last Mile currently is operating in Tanzania and Ghana.

Africa’s economic boom
Africa remains a sweet investment destination due to its resilience to internal and external shocks that have hampered economic growth globally.
This was according to the latest African Economic Outlook report, produced by the African Development Bank, the OECD and the United Nations Development Programme, released yesterday.
Africa’s economy is expected to grow to 4,8% this year and further accelerate to around 6% in 2015.
EffRx Pharma signs distribution agreements for Binosto in Russia, Africa
Switzerland-based EffRx Pharmaceuticals has signed two new distribution agreements that will bring its osteoporosis treatment, Binosto, to markets in Russia, CIS countries and Africa.
The company has partnered with Andrus for the distribution of Binosto in Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

Ascendis Health acquires Pharma Natura for ZAR121 million
Ascendis Health (Pty) Limited, announced the 100 % acquisition of Pharma Natura from Guy Wertheim Aymes Family Holdings for ZAR121 million, a deal that includes the well-known brands Vitaforce, Bettaway, Homeoforce as well as the properties and manufacturing facility in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Ascendis is a fast growing health products group, which markets health and care brands for humans, plants and animals.
