Jindal Steel & Power Ltd will spend about $100 million over two to three years to develop a coal mine in Botswana that it is acquiring through its purchase of Canada's CIC Energy Corp, a company official said on Wednesday.

KENYA will use atomic energy as part of the government's efforts to meet the rising energy demands.The revelation came at the 23rd African Regional Cooperative Agreement for Research working group meeting in Mombasa yesterday that brought together close to 100 participants from the region.

Government is set to connect 5,000 people in seven rural growth centers where there is low access to electricity and connectivity.However, the project will only be implemented, if parliament approves a loan request by government amounting to US$10m (Sh24b) from the OPEC fund for international development.
