First electric railway in Africa launched

The First Chinese-built railway line linking the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa and the port of Djibouti has been formally inaugurated. Covering a total of 752-kilometer it is the first electric railway in Africa.
The railway which is expected to open more routes and also provide landlocked Ethiopia with a faster access to the port, and encourage industrialization along its route.
Made-in-Nigeria Suzuki to launch in October

Boulos Enterprises Ltd, authorised dealer of Suzuki products in Nigeria, said it will push a made-in-Nigeria Suzuki Super Carry to the Nigerian market next month. According to the organisation, the vehicle will launch with complete vehicle warranty and extended service intervals as the first of the vehicles are expected to be available to order from next month.

The new Volkwagen Tiguan has moved up from Business Class to First Class with distinctive upmarket looks and attractive styling, smart new technology, more practicality and a choice of engines and transmissions. The latest VW five-seater SUV is lighter, longer and wider than the previous model and also has more cabin and boot space. It is also the first VW SUV to sit on the same platform and uses much of the underpinnings of the Golf and Passat.
Kenya says construction of Standard Gauge Railway line to continue

Kenya now says that construction of the country’s mega standard gauge railway line will commence in the next two weeks despite being stopped by the environmental tribunal.
Kenya’s Transport and Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary James Macharia said that phase 2A of the Standard Gauge Railway project running from Nairobi to Naivasha was supposed to be launched earlt lasy week but that it was delayed by a petition filed by activists including the Kenya Coalition for Wildlife Conservation.
