Saudi Arabia, South Africa lead power generation construction in MEA
According to the new report from Timetric’s Construction Intelligence Center (CIC), the total value of the power generation construction projects pipeline in the Middle East and Africa stands at US$876.6 billion, with Saudi Arabia and South Africa accounting for the largest shares, with project pipelines valued at US$275.5 billion and US$167.4 billion, respectively.

Turbine generators at Shiroro Hydro electric Power Station repaired
The Shiroro Hydro electric Power Station in Niger has repaired four of its turbine generators restoring the hydro power plant to full capacity to generate 600MW of power.
According Executive Vice Chairman of the power station Dr Olubunmi Peters, Shiroro Hydro electric Power Station has spent US$8.5m to repair the four faulted turbines.

Gouda Wind Farm in South Africa wins major award
In 2015, Gouda Wind Farm in South Africa commence operation with a generating capacity of 423GW hours of power. The generating capacity is expected to power about 200,000 homes a year.
Mega onshore wind farm in South Africa commissioned
A major onshore wind farm in South Africa has been commissioned Mainstream Renewable Power a consortium behind the development has announced.
The wind firm facility is expected to contribute 304,800MWh of power per annum when operating at full capacity. Nonetheless, 69,000 South African homes will be powered by the electricity supply from the wind firm.
